TCP History

In 1996, Tri-County Panthers originated under the name Holt Colts. The team ownership was transferred to Tabb Lunsford and other partners where they joined the Pop Warner league. Tabb installed Walter Parker as the organization commissioner. This re-organization was then given the name Tri-County because of the surrounding counties that players came from. These counties included Person, Orange & Durham County.

TCP started out with two teams, Jr Pee Wee & Pee Wee. Over the next several years, the league began to grow adding flag, tiny mites & mitey mites teams. During those years Jr. Pee Wee & Pee Wee teams played in division championships as well as bowl games.

In 2014, Walter Parker resigned as league commissioner and Rob Robinson took over the leadership of TCP.

Today, Tri County has grown to include TCP Cheer Squad and a great volunteer staff to take Tri County to the next level.
